The term ‘excellence’ is commonly associated with superior performance when compared a state, level of quality, or condition of defined as a quality measure within an organization’s success criteria. The service excellence knowledge area ensures the success criteria is related to the organization’s goals, and includes a competitor’s performance, or any entity for which measures exist to enable a comparison. The success criteria is defined in a quality plan.
